Recovery

Surgery went really well! They just removed some tubes from my body, and I was able to walk for the first time.  Very shaky, dizzy and sore, but doing great.  Carl went home to be with our munchkins, and I am getting ready to get 4 hours of some good sleep - until they come into check my vitals again.  My oxygen levels are worrying them because they got down to 72, and apparently they don't want them below 92.  Now I get to blow into a neat little machine 10 times every hour that I'm awake.  All of the kids wanted to see me after surgery, and so we let them so they would know there is nothing to worry about. Carlye and Nathanael cried a little bit because I'm pale with IV's and wires everywhere, but Noah thought the bag of urine hanging at the foot of my bed was awesome! "Mommy," he said, "Can you please pee so I can watch more go in the bag? Cause that's cool!"  I did not oblige!

Oh, Noah. I love you, little man. I was actually sobbing tonight because I wanted to be there so badly. I have been thinking of you all day. I miss you and am so glad things went well. Get better, sister.

Please don't cry! I wish you were here, too, and I love and miss you so much! But I'm ok!
