Nathanael's birthday present and Carlye's first deer

Nathanael has been saving for a puppy for over a year now.  He wanted a Golden Retriever, but they are harder to find then you would think.  So after some research, he's decided on a Brittany.  Coincidentally we recently found out that our friends Brittany was expecting puppies.  They are beautiful dogs, and LOVE to hunt and roam around on a ranch with a rambunctious boy.  The puppies were born this morning, and here's a pic of the cute little fur balls.  Carl and I are going to put in a little for his birthday, but he has been working and saving for this puppy all on his own.  He's already bought a crate, and he's saving now for his pen, food, etc.  Not to mention the price of the dog.  I'm so proud of him!

Meanwhile, Carlye shot her first deer.  A 32 inch Axis buck.  She shot him with a 30-06 at 185 yards and made a PERFECT shot.  She is so, so proud (and so is daddy, in case you couldn't tell).  I'm thrilled because we needed the venison.  Meanwhile, my prissy, girly viola playing princess is going to have it done in a European mount - which basically means she is going to mount the skull on a piece of wood on her wall........ :)

Uncle Andy is pretty proud, too.

Which puppy does he want? Does he have a name? When will he get it? the beginning of August?
